Celebrate Ford Big Block Stroker Day By Watching These 514ci Blue Oval Bombs Working In Various Situations

The venerable 514ci Ford stroker has been used in a variety of applications from pulling to drag racing to street machines for many years. Since today is 5/14 we figured that it was a great time to highlight some of the mighty Ford engines doing what they do best! We gathered videos from various scenes that include the dyno, the pulling course, the mud bog pit, the drags, etc to show off how much snot these enlarged Ford big blocks can make. In today’s world of hot rodding with the cylinder head selections, cam selections, and multiple options you have for crankshafts, why wouldn’t you stroke your big block for more displacement? The only reason we can see in skipping out on the cubes is if class regulations specifically deny it. Other than that, make them big and make them scream!

Even in the era of 900+ ci engines growing in number every day, there is still something cool about anything that displaces over 500ci. Maybe that makes us old school or lame but we still think of a 514 as a big hunk of iron and it’ll likely stay that way for a long, long time to come. It is that break over point where an engine goes from big to WOW and these Fords are all definitely in the WOW category! Enjoy your 5/14 with this blast of 514ci Ford videos. Hey, it was a Ford engine (the MEL 430) that was the first which hot rodders figured out how to grow displacement to over 500ci back in the 1960s so it is only fitting that we give these big Henrys some love today!
